Review: AXIS-Y Skincare Part 2 ( Cleanser and Serum)

I hope everyone is doing well, I am back with the Skincare review as promised. I fell in love with the Axis-Y, new K-beauty brand this year as they make great skincare for sensitive and acne-prone skincare. As they are not coming slow so here is the review on the Axis-Y Quinoa one step balanced gel cleanser and Dark spit correcting glow serum. As you guys know I loved their toner and ampoule so much, I have reviewed them if you haven’t check it out here is the link for you.

AXIS-Y QUINOA ONE STEP BALANCED GEL CLEANSER

The main function of quinoa one step balanced gel cleanser is to clears and hydrates the skin.
A loving cleanser that clears makeup and pores in one step while delivering a gentle and hydrating wash at your skin’s natural PH. The combination of quinoa and healthy nutrients remove environmental toxins to reveal healthy, lively skin.
It is gentle, but effectively cleanse the skin, removes excess keratin and free radicals and rebuilds skin for a supple and smooth complexion.

KEY INGREDIENTS

Quinoa: It supports the synthesis of collagen and elastin for supple and smooth skin. It neutralizes free radicals with Vitamin E and clears melanin granules that cause dark spots and discolorations.

Calendula: It helps in repairing the skin and helps in healing the blemishes and acne scars in tropical climates.

Green Tea: It helps against the skin damage factors, Reduces pimple count up to 50% and helps in controlling the sebum and oil production.

Sweet Almond Oil: It protects skin from oxidative stress and UV damage using Vitamin E, moisturizes the skin, deeply clears pores and dislodges debris and educes acne flare ups with the help of Vitamin A.

Humulus Lupulus: It flushes out toxins that create blemishes. It helps in fading the old acne marks and rejuvenate the skin.

Holy Basil: It Clears bacteria and inflammation using beta-caryophyllene.

Centella Asiatica - 110,000 ppm: Helps in soothing and repairing the skin and helps in fighting against acne fungal acne.

EN Natural Fermentation: Fermentation of our natural ingredients with Lactobacillus to boost anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties with a soothing application which removes bacteria from skin and pores, defends skin from UV damage and free radicals and gently clears makeup and skin.

MY THOUGHTS

This cleanser came in beautiful green color sturdy plastic packaging with the pump on top. You get the 180 ml of the product inside it for 17 dollars. You get a pea size product when you press the pump, I do wear makeup and sunscreen so I usually go for 2-3 pumps to clean everything.

It is said to gentle yet effective cleanser and I totally agree with it, I am totally obsessed with this cleanser. I have been testing it since I got this and I keep on using this over other cleansers. It smells so good, I am not good at explaining the scent but it had a mild delicious scent to it which really enlightens my mood. It does not make as much foam as usually cleansers do. The transparent gel has a hint of green tint to it and it emulsifies easily with the water. The consistency of the Axis-Y cleanser is more on the liquidy side. It is recommended to be used with lukewarm water but I have been using this with the normal tap water and it works still fine for and it does not leave any film on the face.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the makeup removing claim but it does really well if you are using waterproof mascara make sure to use the eye makeup remover first and then remove the rest of the makeup with the Axis-Y cleanser. It does a really good job of removing the dirt and makeup from the face without being harsh on the skin.
I have used it 3 times a day even and it does not irritate my skin. After rinsing it off it does not feel dry nor does it leave the weird layer or residue on the skin. It does leave the skin well cleansed and plump actually which shook me a lot as it does remove the makeup and mineral sunscreen pretty goodly as well, I thought it is going to harsh but it not at all. I have sensitive skin so I can say that Axis-Y quinoa one step balanced gel cleanser really surprise me.

The Quinoa one step balanced gel cleanser is perfect for every skin type, I highly recommend it.

AXIS-Y DARK SPOT CORRECTING GLOW SERUM

The main function of this serum is brightening and moisturizing.
It is a Niacinamide serum to correct dark spots and improve uneven skin tone. With the help of plant-derived Squalane, this serum retains skin’s moisture to keep your skin glowing healthy wherever you go.

It reduces pigmentation concerns including dark spots and uneven skin tones. It soothes and brighten the skin and deep moisturize it.

The ingredients in Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum are certified by the EWG.

Niacinamide: It is also known as vitamin B3 which helps visibly improve uneven skin tone, dullness, and a weakened surface. It reduces pigmentation concerns including dark spots and uneven skin tones and treats moderate acne while reducing inflammation from acne and rosacea.

Squalane: It keeps skin looking young by fighting off free radicals, promotes the formation of collagen and also balances oil production.

Papaya: It helps in Brightens the skin, works against acne scars and uneven pigmentation

Sea Buckthorn: Helps in recovering the damaged skin, brightens skin, hydrates it and reduces spots.

Orynza Sativa Rice Bran: It Smoothes, brightens skin and eps in fading the dark spots.

Allantoin: Helps in tissue growth, calms skin irritation and redness.

Calendula: Helps in repairing the damaged skin, Regenerate glutathione, an antioxidant in skin that stops damage caused by UV light and protects the skin barrier.

MY THOUGHTS

Starting with the packaging I love the packaging, it is pretty unique as it’s my first time in the k-beauty world seeing the serum in a tube packaging with the pump. I think it is perfect for traveling as you don’t have to worry about leakage or breaking of glass. You get 50ml of product for 22 dollars.

The Axis-Y serum is pretty viscous in consistency and is a cloudy gel type that feels refreshing on the packaging and has a mild herbal scent to it. The dark spot correcting glow serum is actually really lightweight and absorbs easily into the skin, does not create any film and hydrates and moisture the skin well. I usually use 1-3 pumps of this as it depends on how I am using it as a serum or a moisturizer. 

It really helps in soothing and moisturizing the skin, as it can be used as a sleeping mask as well I think it is perfect for the warmer weather especially. It leaves the skin supple and a little brighter but sadly I haven’t seen it working much for the dark spots as it works gently and slowly as compare to other treatments.
If you are looking for it as a spot treatment serum I would recommend to use vitamin B3 or vitamin C treatment for that as you can see results quickly. If you are looking for a nice sensitive skin-friendly serum which is lightweight, hydrates, soothes, moisturize and works as a multipurpose product this Axis-Y is for you.

Overall it is not a bad serum at all, I like it but I love the Artichoke intensive skin barrier ampoule from their collection more.

Both products are great but I love the cleanser more and it is definitely a winner for me, I’m officially declaring the Quinoa one step balanced gel cleanser, my favorite cleanser of 2019.
