Centella Skin Care : ALIVE:LAB Centella Dressing Foam & ChouChou Suncream Mint Review

Hi guys, today I will be reviewing another centella containing products, you guys might think I have gone crazy as I have already reviewed quite a lot but guys wait for it, it is just a start of my addiction so more Centella contain product reviews are coming your way soon. I have acne prone skin and you believe in natural and mild ingredients you need to try centella asiaitica containing products. Korea is addicted to it already and I totally understand the reason behind it as it does not make your skin irritated and protect and soothes your skin.

Today I am going to review the two Centella containing products by the Korean brand called Alive Lab.

ALIVE LAB CENTELLA DRESSING FOAM

If fine dust, makeup, sebum & dead skin cells have turned into troubles!

Containing centella leaf water, this resolves skin troubles and helps exfoliation and skin tone management, and the natural surfactant factors get rid of not only makeup residues but also sebum and bodily waste in pores.

INGREDIENTS

The two main ingredients of dressing foam are Centella leaf water which is great for soothing the skin and Glycerin as it is known for moisturization.

Sorry guys I couldn’t find the ingredients list in English but yeah I have linked the cosdna ingredient list in which the ingredients are mentioned in Korean but you will get the idea of how safe they are actually.

MY THOUGHTS

The Alive lab centella dressing foam came in a tube plastic packaging where you have to squeeze out the product and contains 120ml of product, I like how simple the packaging is the pastel green representing the centella and is soothing to the eyes as well. The dispenser opening hole is pretty functional and does control the product very well.

Alive lab centella foam cleanser is pretty thick in consistency and is white creamy color to it. It feels pretty much like a cream but when emulsified with water it makes a milky foam which does not feel harsh on the skin. The scent is not over whelming and is more on a sweet powdery side which is pretty mild.

It came out I really enjoyed this foam cleanser as well it is pretty mild, has a sweet centella scent to it and leathers very well and makes a micro foam which is more on the creamy side. It does helps in removing the dirt and oil as well over all it cleanse pretty decently. It can also remove the makeup except for the waterproof makeup. It does reduce the redness and makes skin fresh and supple. It does leave the skin matte and a little firm but does give a feeling of dryness.

Overall it’s a nice daily cleanser, more of a morning cleanser as it is mild and does soothes the skin very well.

ALIVE LAB CHOUCHOU SUNCREAM MINT SPF 48 PA+++

It contains the Centella and is ideal for the people with the sensitive skin and an acne prone skin.

INGREDIENTS

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium dioxide, Aluminum Hydroxide, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Zinc Oxide, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Polysorbate 60, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone, Sorbitan Stearate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Arginine, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, CI 42090, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Betaine Salicylate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil

I was so excited when I got this product as this contains centella asiatica and I love centella but I found that it is at the really bottom of the list which makes me really sad but yeah it works good for me overall so I can’t complain. Okay so the ingredient list of ChouChou suncream in mint is an okay, like it not bad nor is it so good. Let’s investigate the ingredient list a little further. The first ingredient on the list is water and second is the glycerin which is great for retaining the moisture into the skin and makes it smooth. I personally don’t mind the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide in my sun screen products. Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine works against getting the sunburn. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate helps against the UV rays but it can cause irritation to the skin as well so it’s not a great ingredient. Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate can make your skin irritate but helps against UV rays and Glyceryl Stearate makes skin soft. Cyclomethicone is the silicone which is safe to use and makes skin soft and leaves the skin glossy. Cetearyl Alcohol which is used an emulsifier is not a good ingredient for acne prone skin. Xanthan Gum gives a supple feeling to the skin. It also contains two of my favorite ingredients Centella Asiatica Extract and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, both are great for skin, they moisturize, protect and soothes the skin. Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil works against the bad odours and soothes the skin.

MY THOUGHTS

Starting with the packaging the packaging is pretty simple it came in a transparent bottle with the pump dispenser which does not make it ideal packaging you don’t have much control on the product but the transparent bottles give the idea how much product has been left and you get the 50 ml of product in total which is pretty good and is the most common size.

The texture of this sunscreen is like a cream and it does feels pretty heavy in the starting but after few minutes it does not feel heavy. It has a minty color and is quite opaque. It leaves a white cast which I don’t mind personally but sometimes if I go heavy hand it can turn me into a ghost so it’s best to use one pump and gently pat it into the skin. Sometimes it does not work very well with the oil based products so make sure to check that beforehand. It has mild minty scent to it and does gives a soothing and cooling effect on application with the dewy finish which cannot be ideal for oily skin but I like to use cica powder on the top which helps in sets it well. Always apply your sunscreen after 2-4 hours depending on their SPF performance.Let’s be honest I always use this sunscreen whenever my skin feels sensitive or have acne which is the case most of the time and especially in the winters like this has some hydrating properties so I always go for it.

Most of the people who loves light weight sunscreen will does not like it in the starting so does I , in the starting I was not sure if I should even bother to review it but after testing it for quite few months I am happy to say that I actually really enjoyed this sunscreen. It does feel heavy after application and does leaves the white cast which is a huge problem but for the people like me who wears makeup mostly on daily basis will love it as a base as it is not going to irritate your skin or cause any acne and cancel out the redness as well and even out the skin. Overall I am really enjoying this product and will definitely recommend it to the people with the sensitive skin, dry skin and acne prone skin even though I think if you have acne prone skin with the oily skin this will work for you as well.
