Review: Mimo By M Bright Like A Star Skincare

It took me some time to write this review because I was sick and I want this post to cover all your questions and also I did my best to test all the products to see the results and to give my honest opinion. First of all, I am so much glad that the Founder of Mimo by M, Mehek finally took a step forward in the Pakistani Skincare Industry, we don’t have much good locally skincare brands which are made industrially, we do have some homemade brands which are good but I haven’t tried much from them. Anyways as I’m a Kbeauty addict girl and to me, the ingredients and the formulation are something which matters a lot, even though Kbeauty is considered affordable overall in Pakistan it’s not that affordable but Mimo by M. finally came out with the great skincare products which are affordable and finally everybody can enjoy the Kbeauty experience without breaking your bank.

MIMO BY M BRIGHT LIKE A STAR

For those who don’t know, Mimo By M. is the online K-beauty store in Pakistan which brings the best Korean skincare to your doorstep. Mimo by M. have launched their own skincare line which is called BRIGHT LIKE A STAR and have four basic products at the moment which includes a cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer.

Mimo By M. products are Vegan, Cruelty-Free, Alcohol-Free, and Artificial Fragrance-Free. The products do have a slightly citrusy scent to it which is due to the lemon peel oil. They make sure to put the least amount of lemon peel oil, however, if you are allergic to essential oils, make sure to patch test before applying it on your face, you can do a patch test on your arm or neck.

All the products are specially designed to make sure they work for all skin types and I cannot agree much with it.

MIMO BY M BRIGHT LIKE A STAR CLARIFYING & REFRESHING GLOW GEL CLEANSER

Mimo By M Bright Like A Star gel cleanser thoroughly removes dirt and dead skin cells, making your skin feel fresh and clean. It is a gentle cleanser that effectively removes impurities, including makeup and sunblock, and can be used day and night. The soothing ingredients help calm down redness and irritation and work towards clarifying your skin from breakouts and blemishes. The brightening ingredients help fade dark spots, brighten and tone up your complexion. Its refreshing scent will put you in an energized mood right away.

INGREDIENTS

Water, sodium cocoyl glycinate, sodium lauroyl glutamate, sodium cocoyl wheat amino acids, polyglycerin-10, hydrolyzed rhodophycea extract (red algae), cocamidopropyl betaine, acrylates/beheneth-25 methacryalate copolymer, centella asiatica extract, rosa canina fruit extract (rosehip), malic acid, niacinamide, arbutin, glycyrrhiza uralensis extract (licorice), calendula officinalis flower extract, rubus fruiticosus (balckberry) fruit extract, jojoba wax PEG-120 esters, disodium etda, olive oil PEG-7 esters, allantoin, sodium hyaluronate, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, sechium edule fruit extract, citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel oil.

MY THOUGHTS

You get the 150 ml of product in a sturdy bottle with the pump, the packaging is simple yet aesthetically pleasing. All of the products came in an outer box for some extra protection and all the details including the ingredients are mentioned on the box as well. The gel cleanser is transparent with the tiniest hint of pink which is not visible unless you look inside the bottle and consistency is like aloe gel as well but more firm. It does have a slightly citrusy scent to it which makes me want to use it more often as it’s refreshing. I think the half pump goes a long way as I make a mistake in the starting of using a full pump but I think you don’t need a full pump unless you need to remove all the makeup or so for the morning I go for a half pump of cleanser usually. When diluted with the water it makes a rich microfoam. When it comes to performance it does cleanse the face really well, when you have some makeup on or chemical sunscreen on making sure to take your time, I usually cleanse for 1 minute and wash with Luke warm water which works best for me. 

Overall I’m really satisfied with this cleanser, I think the people which the extra dry skin may find it a little drying I personally think it will work for all skin type.

MIMO BY M BRIGHT LIKE A STAR CLARIFYING & SOOTHING COMFORT TONER

Mimo By M Bright Like A Star toner has an intensive soothing and brightening formula that helps keep your skin smooth and clear. It helps fight redness and sensitivity and helps you achieve a smoother skin texture and a more toned and brighter complexion. It has a lightweight formula that balances out the oil to moisture ratio of your skin so your skin stays hydrated without getting too greasy or too dry. The light formula also makes it very easy to layer the product on days your skin needs an extra boost.

Water, butylene glycol, trehalose, silk amino acids, hamamelis virginia (witch hazel) water, calendula officinalis flower extract, centella asiatica extrtact, portulaca oleracea extract, niacinamide, arbutin, rosa canina fruit extract, camelia sinesis leaf extract, polyglutamic acid, sodium hyaluronate, allantoin, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, sechium edule fruit extract, citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel oil

MY THOUGHTS

The toner came in a sturdy plastic bottle which contains 150ml of product. I find the packaging for the toner quite unique because it has a double closure to protect the toner, which is actually pretty good. If you guys have tried the powder cleansers the packaging is similar to that one.

The color is again transparent with a hint of pink, the consistency and texture is like water and it absorbs into the skin easily, it’s perfect for layering and I personally like to use it as a mask with the cotton pads for 10 minutes. It really helps in calming, hydrating and soothing my skin. I have already halfway through the bottle now. The toner has a mild citrusy scent which fades away after application. If you guys have used the Etude House soon Jung toner or keep cool soothe toner, which are perfect for sensitive skin even. This toner falls into the same category and I will highly recommend to check this out.

Mimo By M Bright Like A Star serum helps improve the overall quality of your skin, making it look smoother and brighter. Packed with abundant natural brightening, soothing and anti-aging ingredients, this serum will help fade out dark spots, even out skin tone and brighten your complexion. Powerful but gentle anti-aging ingredients will also help improve skin’s elasticity and firmness and improve skin texture. MY THOUGHTS

The serum came in a beautiful pearl finish glass bottle and you the 30ml of product in it, this one has more chemically citrusy scent which is mild. The serum is transparent with the hint of pink champagne color. The consistency of the serum is quite runny and watery, it absorbs into the skin easily and does not create any film or layer on the skin. It leaves the skin hydrated and calms it as well but you can see the niacinamide works if you keep using it for a week or two at least. It brightens the skin, fades the dark spots and makes your skin look healthy.

I will highly recommend it to everyone and especially for the people who cannot use vitamin c, this one is a great alternative and even the people with the sensitive skin can use this one without any worry.

The Mimo By M Bright Like A Star gel moisturizer will keep your skin hydrated and radiant. Formulated with natural brightening, anti-aging and skin enhancing ingredients, this moisturizer works to increase cell turnover for a brighter, smoother and clearer-looking skin. The lightweight, gel-type texture locks in moisture for hours without feeling heavy or greasy. While its regenerative properties help soften and smoothen skin texture. Regular and consistent use will help fade dark spots, even out skin tone and brighten your natural complexion.

MY THOUGHTS

This moisturizer came in a heavy glass jar,you get 50g of product in it. The consistency and texture of the moisturizer is light weight and gel cream like. It has a mild citrusy scent to it, the color is pastel pink. The gel cream is really hydrating and absorbs into the skin, I personally like to apply this in layers as it works well that way for me also if you have dry skin or want to use it as sleeping mask, I used 3-4 layers and It gives the best glow the next day, it leaves the skin hydrating, well moisturized and it also helps in soothing the skin. I think it really can be used as a day cream and night cream, throughout the year. For winter I may add oil with it at night time but overall this is amazing. Also this does not create the weird film on the skin which some gel cream does, it absorbs pretty quick. I hope they include the spatially with the moisturizer this definitely needs one due to consistency. This consistency reminds me of the laneige water sleeping mask which is my favorite.

All the products are lightweight and can be layered several times so one can use them according to their skin needs. I have been using these a lot lately and I have to say that I’m obsessed with them. I will highly recommend the toner, serum, and moisturizer.
