Favorite Korean Eye Palette of 2018: Moonshot Honey Coverlet Palette Review

Moonshot Honey Coverlet Eye Shadow Palette Review

Today I will be reviewing the eye palette that I have been eyeing from the day it came out. This year Moonshot did a collaboration with the famous and beautiful actress Yoo In Na, she is the second lead of famous Korean drama Goblin if you remember. This limited edition collection is called ‘Honey Coverlet’ which came out on 13 September 2018 and contains the eyeshadow palette, 10 lipstick which has 2 different finishes and foundation. I am a huge fan of Yoo In Na and Moonshot and secondly, it is a first palette ever moonshot came out with so I have to get it for sure.

I am excited about the packaging but not so much about the shades because they look so basic but I want to try it anyways.

INGREDIENTS

Moonshot Honey Coverlet Eye Shadow Palette Instructions

I was lucky enough to found the ingredients in Korean even from the Moonshot official site but they didn’t mention the names of swept candle and firewood which are the top two wide pan shades and both of them have shimmer formula.

The ingredient list of soft pillow and warm cashmere
The ingredient list of cinnamon tea and nutty brown

The ingredient list of cream tan and antique rug

The ingredient list of Dusty Rose
The ingredient list of rustic chair

The ingredients list is overall pretty satisfying.

MY THOUGHTS

Moonshot Honey Coverlet Eye Shadow Palette

This palette is smaller than imagination, I have seen some pictures on Instagram and it does not look that small but the packaging is super sleek and beautiful. The palette has a velvet matte finish to it and with that tropical leaves hint on the nude palette makes it so much more glamorous. The printing on the outside of the packaging has the embossed effect. Now that I am looking at the details they marketing it as a travel-friendly palette which you can easily toss into your bag so now that size does make sense. It has a magnetic case which is the plus point because my palettes most often break from the opening plastic stopper thing. The tropical leaves can be seen on the plastic inserter which is inside the palette and it’s a first time seeing this pretty plastic separator.

The names are not mentioned on the actual palette so have to keep the box for all the information and I am glad they consider the international consumers in the mind as well and use the given the basic information in English as well.

Honestly, they seem so different in the pans that at first I was like I am not going to use it more often but when I swatch these I was like these are not bad and when I use them for the first time I fell in love with this palette so much. As you guys know your girl love the glitter shadow way too much so I wasn’t expecting to like this palette.

This palette is perfect if you love mute/neutral rosy tones and warm brown tones which I do personally love. There are total 10 shades in this palettes, the pans are pretty small as well and you get the 9.5 g of the total product from this palette. It’s a mini palette so get the 8 small square pans which are all matte shadows while there are 2 rectangular shape pans which are shimmer shadows.

On the packaging, they also describe how to use Moonshot Honey Coverlet Eye Shadow Palette and I personally like to apply the shimmer shades with finger and mattes with the brush but I have noticed the lighter matte shades applied well with the fingers than the brushes. This palette formula is not powdery or chalky. Its winter and my eyes are pretty dry literally whatever I apply on my eyes it looks so patchy and uneven but this one does not surprisingly as the formula was described as velvety which melts into the skin easily I agree with it, I didn’t find any shade patchy in this palette and all the shades are really nicely pigmented and blends like dream. Sorry, I know I sound biased but honestly it’s 100 percent true that I fall hard for this palette.

Moonshot Honey Coverlet Eye Shadow Palette includes the matte and shimmer shades

Moonshot Honey Coverlet Eye Shadow Palette has a magnetic case

SWEET CANDLE: It is a shimmer finish, soft pink champagne shade which is more on a sheer side, I have used it as a highlighter as well and I loved it. It has a really soft and buttery texture.

FIREWOOD: It is a beautiful shimmer finish reddish copper shade and very soft and buttery on touch.

SOFT PILLOW: It is basically matte base shade which is off-white and does not have much pigmentation to it but is buildable.

WARM CASHMERE: It is a little warm tone matte base color for my skin tone and it is more pigmented than the soft pillow and again it’s buildable.

CINNAMON MILK TEA: It is pigmented matte shade which can be described as a light peach-brown shade.

NUTTY BROWN: It is a beautiful matte shade which is warm tone light brown shade and is nicely pigmented as well.

CREAM TAN: Cream tan is basically matte creamy brown shade again more of a blending and base shade for me, it’s a little bit powdery and hard to swatch because it’s similar to my skin tone.

ANTIQUE RUG:
It is a really pretty tone down pink which has a matte formula and it is one of my favorite shade in this palette for sure.

DUSTY ROSE: It has a more pink tone to it than the antique rug, again a really beautiful shade which is quite pigmented.

RUSTIC CHAIR: This shade shock me the most as its really pigmented and is super buttery and easy to work with. I can say that this is one of the best neutral dark brown formulae I came across ever, you can use it even as an eyeliner as well.

I have noticed that some shades do not swatch very well on the skin but apply nicely especially the lighter shades. I have swatched lighter shades up to 3-4 times while other twice in achieving this pigmentation.

OVERALL

The formulation of Moonshot Honey Coverlet Eye Shadow palette is really got, they very soft and buttery, does not have a fallout, does not crease, blends easily and does not fade away after 6-7 hour without primer which is a pretty good time. So far this palette really did a great job, you can create the daily, smoky and dramatic look with this eyeshadow palette, this moonshot Honey Coverlet palette really set the high standards for the Korean eyeshadows. I will definitely recommend it and I am actually officially declaring this my favorite K-beauty eye palette of 2018.
