Review: Melixir Vegan Balancing Toner

Hi Guys, it’s been quite some time since I posted last time, honestly, I don’t have the motivation to do much lately. Today I am going to talk about the Toner and brand I have been loving. Melixir is a brand that appeals to me a lot as it looks so promising and aesthetic overall so to try my luck I enter in a giveaway which was held by Kbeautycollective (Kbeauty fan club) and luckily I have et a chance to try the Melixir toner.

Melixir is a Clean-vegan Korean beauty brand that was founded in 2018. Melixir is a San Francisco based skincare brand that uses plant-based ingredients while leveraging Korean beauty technology, they work with the well-known cosmetic manufacturer Cosmax to make sure their products deliver the best. Let’s get into the review.

Made with 100% green tea leaf extract, this toner resets your skin to its ideal pH balance level. Having too high or low of a pH level will determine your sensitivity to outside pollutants and the sun. Green tea extract restores your skin to ~5.5 pH which is the perfect base for other active ingredients to nourish the skin. This balancing toner sloughs off dead skin while the Catechin and polyphenols in green tea have active antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that nourish and protect your skin.

• Repairs dullness and uneven texture

• Use for acne-prone skin, sensitive skin, combination skin, and oily skin.

This toner contains 100% Green Tea Extracts and does not contain any artificial preservatives, Formulated only with EWG safe ingredients.

MY THOUGHTS 

This came in a beautiful and sturdy transparent- frosted glass bottle with the white plastic cap which is aesthetically pleasing to eyes and I will definitely keep it as a decorative even.

You get the 150ml of product for 32 dollars but for the packaging and ingredients with the results, I will say it’s pretty decent. I happened to find it on Missbeautykorea website for 16 dollars which is totally a steal if you ask me. One thing to be noted that you have to use it within 6 months after opening.

It has a dark brown color to it, does not have any artificial or prominent scent to it. The scent is basically like natural green tea. The consistency is more on the watery side. It absorbs into the skin easily leaving it hydrated and moisturized. 

It really helps in soothing the skin if you apply it in layers or as a mask which I personally like to do. I really like how it calms my skin and hydrates it at the same time. It is gentle enough to use twice a day and does not irritate the skin anyway. I think every skin type will enjoy it especially the sensitive, acne-prone, dehydrated, and oily skin type will love it for sure.

Overall I really like simple yet on point ingredients and the performance of the toner itself is pretty good. I am definitely looking forward to trying more products from Melixir.
